The fish community research was conducted around Sapa Segajah (Location A) and Melahing (Location B) coastal waters of Bontang City, for 3 months. Obtained data of several parameters of water quality and water substrate according to standard of marine biota life quality. Three species of E. acoroides, T. hemprichii, and C. serrulata with standing proportions in location A were more densely compared to location B. At A Sapa Segajah location away from the coast, the lowest number of fish was obtained in the 28th sampling to 28 species and Highest in the second sampling of 36 species. For location B of Malahing village close to the coast, the lowest number of fish was obtained in sampling to III 24 species and highest in sampling to I i.e 35 species. In general, the species Siganus canaliculatus and S. fuscescens were the most dominant species during the study. According to its function, seagrass ecosystem in coastal waters of Bontang City, it is very important to maintain its existence.
