SEAWEED IDENTIFICATION IN PANJANG ISLAND WATERS BONTANG CITY, EAST KALIMANTAN

One of the marine resources that has great potential, namely seaweed, seaweed exports are increasing every year so the aim of this research is to identify the types of seaweed that exist in Bontang waters. The method used in this study was a survey method by taking samples directly from the field and then identifying them descriptively. Based on the results of research conducted at four station points on Panjang Island, it was found that there were 7 orders of class, including the orders Ceramiales, Corallinales, Nemaliales, Gigartinales, Bryopsidales, and Dictyotales. 8 families, 11 genera and 14 species including Laurencia obtuse, Acanthophora specifera, Laurencia obtuse, Amphiroa fragilissima, Galaxaura rugosa, Eucheuma spinosum, Kappaphycus alvarezii, Hypnea cenomyce, Hypnea valentiae, Gracilaria sp, Halimeda tuna, Halimeda macroloba, Dictyota cervicornis, and Dictyopteris dichotoma.
