Abstract

Tidung Island is one of the islands in Indonesia which has dense activities such as residential areas, conservation areas, as well as being used as a tourist spot. Therefore, it is necessary to know information about the condition of the sea waters, both the pattern of currents and tides. The purpose of this research is to analyze the condition of the current and tide patterns in the waters around Tidung Island. The method used is a quantitative method with a 2D numerical model approach using Mike 21 HD software. The results of the modeling that has been done is that Tidung Island waters have a single daily tide type where in one day there is one high tide and one low tide with a formzahl value of F> 3.00. Movement pattern and speed of significant tidal currents for the time period on January 11 2020 at 03.00 WIB with spring tide conditions of 0.518411 m (51.8411 cm), dominant currents from northeast to west with a speed of 0.15 m /s. Meanwhile, when the neap tide is at 14.00 WIB, the high tide value is -0.381634 m (-38.1634 cm), the dominant current is from west to northeast with a speed of 0.3 m/s. Movement patterns and current velocity are processed into 3 dimensions in the third and fifth layers where in the third layer the depth ranges from -15 m to -30 m and the temperature is 28.95 ̊C, the highest current velocity value is 0.312095 m/s, the dominant current in the third layer, namely southwest to northeast. The fifth layer is known to have a depth ranging from -30 m to -45 m with a temperature of 28.95 ̊C, the highest current velocity value is 0.312597 m/s, where the dominant current is from west to east.
